AI Art Does Disability

Some of the strangest disability ideas I have seen in a long time….from https://know-the-ada.com/key-ada-litigation-cases-and-their-landmark-outcomes/

When this image is downloaded, it saves as “A courtroom where the discussion is around issues of ADA compliance,” and I’m assuming this is the prompt.

A collage of AI art of a courtroom. The faces of many people are obscured. Many people are in wheelchairs, including one person who watches from a balcony. Other images show the judge reading, a person writing, and someoen looking at a ramp far too steep for compliance that leads to closed doors (which go all the way to the ground).

There’s also no alt-text available…when I asked AI alt text to write some, here’s what I got:

Detailed: A courtroom featuring a judge in a wheelchair presiding from the bench. Two lawyers are presenting their case, with one at a podium gesturing. The audience includes individuals in wheelchairs and others seated, all attentive to the proceedings. The atmosphere is formal, with an American flag visible (https://galaxy.ai/ai-alt-text-generator).

What I think it’s missing: the person presenting who doesn’t have a head. Also the ramp to nowhere….

Here’s another one.

An AI image with grey blocks over sections as if they have recently been graffitied. A courtoom with lots of beige where the judge is in a wheelchair and many watch, take notes, and one applauds. Some people in the front row are missing body parts. Some people watching the witness are in chairs that also are in wheelchairs. Stairs lead needlessly up to the area where these strange spectators sit.

Love this accessible judge’s stand, good thing we don’t need to use these stairs that have been added!
